WHAT TO BRING FOR YOUR NEWBORN SESSION
Do you have a newborn session coming up and you are not sure what items to bring? this blog will tell you everything you need to know about it.

Milk, yes milk!
I remember one time a young couple hired me for their newborn photos. They were very sweet but definitely inexperience. After shooting their session for about 2 hours the baby was hungry and I asked them to feed him since we were all finished with the session. They looked at each other and then proceeded to tell me they didn't bring extra formula for the baby because they thought they would not need it.
Not gonna lie, I was a bit in shocked!
Since then, I decided to include in all my email reminders to my clients to bring extra milk.
Breastfeeders are safe, of course! ;)

Extra clothes
Having a newborn means you will need at least two extra onesies in your diaper bag. Accidents happens all the time and watery yellow poop is very common in newborns which means it can get everywhere!!! yes, I have had many times poop on my leggings. It's part of the job =P
However, I do remember a time when mom and dad forgot to bring extra clothes for their newborn session and while I was changing the baby, poop got out and stained the onesie. Unfortunately they didn't have anything extra other than a blanket and baby had to be wrapped in it to get home.

Pacifier
I know Im going to get some heat on this one specially from first time moms that read a lot of articles on the internet. Listen, I am not going to make anyone bring one. If you use it, cool and if you don't, that's ok. HOWEVERRRRRR, I can't tell you how many times a pacifier has saved the session from a total disaster. I probably use it less than 10% of the time but if your newborn already uses one, then please BRING IT!

outfits for dad/boys
If your photographer provides gowns/dresses for moms and girls then you only need to worry about your spouse and the boys. I always recommend my clients to bring either jeans or chino with a white long sleeve shirts or any soft color such as blue, sage, nudes etc. Make sure they are clean and ironed.
Miscellaneous
Most newborn sessions last at least 2 hours so it is important to bring anything that will help during this waiting period. I highly recommend snacks, water, and any electronic (for the kids) that can keep them busy.
It is highly recommended to get your nails clean, trimmed, and manicured for all family members that are being photographed.
Moms, I know you are exhausted but getting your makeup done for your photos is also important. I am not saying professionally (unless you want to) but something natural that will help enhance your natural beauty is a plus.
