My Heart Is With You

Moms, I want you to know that your babies are incredibly important to me, and I understand how special this time is. Whether you choose to include your children or not, I’m here to make your maternity photos beautiful and meaningful. There’s no right or wrong — only what feels best for you and your family.

COST CONSIDERATIONS

My family package, which includes children, is the most expensive option. If budget is a concern, think about whether this package works for you or if a smaller, simpler session might be better.

INCLUDING CHILDREN CAN CHANGE THINGS A BIT

One of the biggest things to keep in mind is that adding kids can turn your maternity shoot into more of a family session. That’s not a bad thing at all—family photos are wonderful! But if your main goal is to focus on that beautiful pregnant glow, the excitement of expecting, or capturing just you and your bump, then having kids there can shift the focus away from that.

BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES

Having your kids in the photos creates special, heartfelt moments. It shows your family now and captures how excited your little ones are about the new baby coming.

CREATIVE/EDGY IMAGES

One big challenge is that more creative, edgy, or artistic maternity photos can be hard to pull off with little ones around. These kinds of photos often need calm, patience, and a certain vibe that can be tough to achieve when kids are involved. They might not sit still, get tired, or just want to do their own thing, which can make it hard to get those perfect, artistic shots.

POSING AND BEHAVIOR

My style of photography is posed and well-behaved. If your kids aren’t used to being in photos or can’t follow instructions, it might be tricky to get the shots you want. Candid moments are not part of my style, so kids need to be comfortable and cooperative.

FAMILY MEMORIES

Having your kids in the photos makes them a part of this special time. Years from now, you'll all look back and remember how excited and happy you were together.

STRESS CAN TAKE AWAY THE MAGIC

I’ve seen moms get stressed out trying to keep their kids happy and behaved during the shoot. When this happens, it can take away from the special, peaceful feeling that makes maternity photos so magical. The focus should be on celebrating this special time, not on managing stress.

YOUR BABIES ARE A PRIORITY

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have photos that show your growing family? Including your kids can highlight the excitement and bond you already share. It’s a beautiful way to remember this special time together.

TIMING AND PLANNING

Including children requires some extra planning. For example outfits, hairdos, etc

You might need to choose a time when they’re well-rested and happy, which can be a bit more challenging to coordinate. .

If you decide to include your children, try to keep expectations relaxed. Bring snacks or toys if needed, and remember that it’s okay if not every shot is perfect. The goal is to capture your love and excitement, not to create a perfectly behaved family portrait.

If a calm, posed session is what you’re after, and you prefer a relaxed atmosphere, sometimes it’s best to do individual maternity shots or include your children in a separate, more candid session later.

While including your partner and children can make the photos extra special, it’s also perfectly okay to choose to do a session just for you and your belly. Sometimes, that’s what you need—to have a quiet moment just for yourself. Don’t feel guilty about that. Whatever you decide, these photos will be cherished because they reflect your unique story.
