TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL MATERNITY PHOTO SESSION

BEST TIME TO GET YOUR PHOTOS DONE
First time moms usually have no idea when to do their maternity photos. I recommend between 28-32 weeks because women are not as swollen or tired for the session. You don't want to wait until your belly is "too big". Most moms who wait too long take the risk of going into labor before they get to have their session. Trust me, the longer you wait, the harder the session will be.

WHAT TO WEAR
If your photographer has a gown/dress collection, you will not have to invest or stress about getting the perfect outfit for your session. For example, I have over 30 unique pieces of gowns that my clients have access to when they book their photos with me. In case your photographer doesn't have a client closet, you can wear maxi dresses, jeans and a top, and a bodysuit. These options are relatively inexpensive and can be found on Amazon or Shein.

GET A MUAH
The number one mistake I see clients make is trying to do their own makeup thinking they want to look "natural" and save money. Listen, I am all for trying to save money and I don't wear makeup that often, but when it comes to professional photos hiring a professional makeup artist is a must. MUAH know how to work with colors, skin textures, and will recommend what looks best on you. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Make it special and trust the experts.

PREPARE FOR THE SESSION
- Avoid self spray tanning (for the love of God). I don't mean to be rude but doing self tanning can ruin your session 100%. Your photographer will not spend hours and hours (at least not for free) matching your skin and filling the gaps.
- Get a manicure and a pedicure. If you don't want to spend extra money on those, simply cut your nails, remove that old nail polish and get everything clean.
- Wax girl! If you are doing photos in a bodysuit or maternity nudes, do not forget to trim the forest ;)
- Last but definitely not least, avoid wearing tight clothing such as underwear or socks. This will create marks on your skin which will be difficult to remove/edit
